David, I've traced to Richard b. 1594, Suffolk, Eng d.1680 , Oyster Bay, NY. Believe 1st married in Eng. to Mary Coe b. abt 1592 d. 1618 in Eng. Richard came to America in 1634 w/sons Richard (my direct) & Jeremiah. Richard married Alse(Alice) Wright, widow of Peter. From there it gets murky.
Other researchers seem to think there is a Richard somewhere betw... Richard of Cortland(t)Manor, NY b. 1700, d. 1768. Children Richard b.1755, Phoebe, Henry & John. It appears children that have matured & made a life for themselves are not always mentioned in their fathers will therefore the direct line can get lost due to the remarriages. This is what I suspect happened in many cases. Do you have any knowledge of the Richard Crab(b) line in Eng before 1594? Thanks for your interest, any new info will be appreciated. Bob
