Hello, can you tell me anything about your surname? A friend has a James Ostram Conklin in his line, but we can't figure out where the Ostram name comes from. (He also has the Wygant name; they seem to be related in some way.) His family lived in Orange county in the Newburgh area; James was born in 1814 and married Rebecca Millard Purdy. Their daughter was Lydia Wygant Conklin, b. 1861, m. 2nd William Wallace Ewing. Thanks, Janice Weeks Bernath
