Subject: captain john seaman geneology

I am a descendent of Cpt John Seaman. Am trying to verify his geneology back in England. Am getting 2 different lines. On as per Mormon church records (not verified) and another. There are numerous mentions that Captain John's ancestor (William)was burned at the stake in England for his religious beliefs. I cannot make the link
Can anyone help?
