Desiree',
Thank you so much for your follow-up to my posting. No, I'm afraid that I have not found a link between the Davis family and my Tottens. I still am of some believe that there was a relationship between the families as my great grandmother's middle name was Davis: Josephine Davis Totten. This, of course, is speculation on my part. I've had absolutely no luck in tracing the Totten beyond "my Richard". All that I have to go on is the notes left by my great aunt, his granddaughter. (She was born the year that he died.) I do have the satisfaction that all of the information she has written down that I have found in records have been correct. That is with the exception of my great grandmother's year of birth. . .everyone believes that Josephine Davis Totten Schultze was born in 1851, the same year as her husband, my great grandfather, Theodore Schultze, HOWEVER, the 1850 census shows he as being born in 1849!

I will keep your e-mail address and hope to find a further link!

Kind regards,

Roberta Schultze
