I need to disable my packard bells 5300CDT modem! There must be a jumper or dip switch on the motherboard that controls this but I cannot find any documentation. Please help if possible. I have a 14.4 modem/soundcard and i need to disable the modem (doesnt work if I do it in device manager) because I bought a 56 k modem that doesnt have jumpers on it(its plug and play but it states in the manual "If you have a built in modem you will need to disable it via jumpers or dipswitches on the motherboard".
