If the PC is getting power (indicator lights are one, drives whirr), it could be a defective video card (unlikely). It could be a power supply problem (check the fan -- no fan is a sure sign of a supply problem). Or it could be a motherboard problem. Your description makes us think motherboard. Sorry!
