Hit the F8 key as the PC first accesses the hard drive to bring up the Windows Startup Menu. You may have to do this several times until you catch the right point. From the menu, select the item which starts the PC in the DOS mode. From the DOS prompt, run SCANREG /FIX to repair the registry. If this doesn't work, you'll need to repeat the Windows installation, preferably by starting with an FDISK and then FORMAT.
