The CR-563B is not a standard IDE CD-ROM. It uses a proprietary interface and its flat ribbon cable connects to a Sound Blaster 16 sound card.

To use this drive in DOS, you need to install the drivers for the sound card (which creates the needed port) and for the CD-ROM.

The sound card may not be a SoundBlaster 16, but a compatible, so you'll need to open the case and check the card or the chips on the motherboard, if it's embedded. Then go to www.driverguide.com to download DOS drivers and installation software.
