Subject: Two networked computers with video card problems !Please Help !
I have two networked computers .One is mine and one is my father's.My computer started having video card problems like vertical stripes. It has a 32mb geforce Ectasy 4569? .I was getting all this error messages about a device failure when it was starting.Recently I purchased a BFG 128mb Asylum Geforce fx 5200 ultra and at first did not work at all ,kept rebooting every second then it worked for one full day after I tried the demos that came with it started rebooting by itself .After this it gave me error messages about the driver.I went to my father's computer and I started to seach on google about this error but after 5 min the computer reeboted and it wouldn't start windows xp. Sometimes It would post, I could see XP startup logo but then nothing but sometimes I got the black screen. Then I did a Win XP Repair and It still would not start.Yesterday I returned the new card.Last night I took the video card from my computer and put it in my father's computer. It started and it still works and just for the fun of it I put that video card from my father's computer a Nvidia Vanta 16mb in my computer and it works now.I think it might be a power supply issue on mine or motherboard but what happened on my father's computer ?I forgot to mention that the computers right now are not connected through the Ethernet cable. Maybe somebody would have other ideas about what's wrong with my computer. Please help.
