Subject: Serious P.c. Installation problems....Part 2
Cont'd
I have since changed all the Ram / The Cpu / The Gfx card & the PSU as well as installing a new h.disk. The only thing that i have still to change is the Motherboard.
After changing all of the above - one at a time - i get the same problem - install freezes on first boot up.
Decided to give up on Windows XP and try Windows 2000 - this does exactly the same thing as XP does - freezes on first boot up.
I even took ot down to the bare minimum and just had the mobo / cpu / ram and i gfx card and still the same.
At this point i am convinced that the problem lies with the motherboard - however i can get windows 98 to install on this system fine and works well.
Which makes me now think that the problem is not the motherboard.
I have racked my brains now for days on trying to resolve this but i am losing patience - has anyone ever came across a problem like this and if so how did they overcome it.
Thx for reading this lenghty post - but its only half of what i have tried.
