Subject: keeps restarting

couple weeks ago an object fell of a shelf near the pc and hit the case, this caused the pc to restart itself, problem is now the windows screen comes up it then goes to scan disk after scan disk has run the pc restarts itself again and keeps restarting the same way. ive tried starting in safe mode and with cd roms floppy etc disconnected. the op is xp
