The symphony of sound is created by the POST (Power On Self Test) Error Codes generated by your BIOS (Built In Operating System). The actual codes vary according to the maker of the BIOS. The major BIOS makers are AWARD and AMI.

for a list of codes. From your description, it would appear that one of the memory chips you are trying to install is defective.
