Subject: Help with cd rom for win 3.1 on a 486

I have a 486 pentium running windows 3.1. I have installed the drivers for the cd rom and they have been written correctly in the autoexec and config files, making sure it calls the right drive and mscdex.exe. However, it is not assinging it a drive letter. Dos recognizes the drive at startup. I have it connected to an IDE with my harddrive and the jumpers have been set. Please help.
