Subject: New BJC 5000? Won't print

I just bought a bjc 5000, had no disk so I downloaded for the driver to recognize. I bought new connection lines. Still getting the same error messege. "unable to write data to printer, check to see if printer is on and all connections are secure" I've checked everything..... can anyone help?
