Subject: Deleting Photo's from a browser.

Hi, a coworker gave me a used computer for my daughter. He honestly said that he did visit some adult sites and did download some photos. As far as he is aware, he deleted the photo's.
Where should I look to see that all downloaded images are delted so that my daughter does not come across them?
It had Windows 98 operating system.
I do not want to re formatt.
