Ouch! That's frustrating.

When building a system from scratch, put the motherboard in the case, attach the power cables, attach the LED indicator cables, pop in the processor, RAM, and a video card (if it's not on board), and power up with a monitor attached. If the lights don't come on, the power supply or the motherboard is NG, usually the power supply. If you don't have a spare power supply or a voltmeter to measure the output, you'll need to take everything to the store where you put the pieces or to a shop to be checked out.
