Subject: Re: CDRW Problems

I have found a problem early this year, 2003, that using a CD-RW as a Data formatted CD and using the CD-RW to store documents as a large floppy has some problems. If the Computer does not have or does not load on start up, the UDF file for reading a CD-RW, then there are some problems ejecting the CD-RW. Earlier in 2003, I could open up Directcd.exe and format and write to the CD-RW, but if I closed Directcd before I finished, then I could not eject the CD-RW. I have now found another problem with two different CD-RW's. The second problem I found is: I have downloaded AIM, Openoffice and Filemaker Pro 30 day application software. It would seem that CD-RW's do not like applications? I am not sure that is the case but with two different CD-RW's, the applications will hide but the size of the application will still be there. I have checked the format structure, but it states that file structure is okay.

The first problem clears up as long as the user starts Directcd.exe and clicks the 'Show icon in System Tray' before putting a CD-RW into the tray. This solution has worked for 6-7 months now. Let me know if there is a work around on storing applications on CD-RWs. danielnl1234@yahoo.com
