Subject: cannot access yahoo or google

I cannot seem to reliably access yahoo or google. I get the error message "www.yahoo.com could not be found. Please checklist the name and try again." Odly enough, I can get to mail.yahoo.com. Google and Ebay result in similar errors. Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D do not find anything. Anyone got any suggestions?
