Wow! This type of problem used to occur with some very old (circa 1980-3) personal computers, but it's virtually unknown on newer PCs.

We'd love to help but we'd need more information about your computer and the circumstances under which the problem occurs.

Is your monitor okay if the printer is unplugged? How about if it's off? What kind of computer are we dealing with? What printer?
