Subject: Bad floppy disks?

Before backing up important information, I formatted disks to back up on. The back up went on just fine, but when I went to restore, I could not read from the disk. I used scandisk but there wasn't enough room on the disk to correct the information. This happened to many other disks that I put data on at the same time I did the backup. Am I screwed or is there a solution?
There are other little things that have happened like: Volume labels were given when I didn't give the disks labels when formatting. The date on some disks were 19/20/2017 after formatting. Any suggestions?
