Subject: My motherboard sometimes doesn't starts

I have an unusual trouble with my PC, sometimes when i turn on my computer
although the fan works, i don't hear the beep that indicates the starting process
and the screen don't receive information. This could be produced by a energy
source fail ?.

I'd thank any suggestion.
