Subject: PB won't boot from C:
My brother has a PB Legend 20CD and uses AOL. I'm
asking for help on his behalf because he can't get his
PC to boot, and therefore has no access to on-line help.
After the lifetime telephone hold at PB, they refused
to help without payment, since it's out of warranty. After using MSWorks, the program may not have been
shut down properly.
The PC won't boot from the C drive.
The boot diskette in the A drive gets them access
to the C drive, but only the MSWorks subdirectory.
Change directory commands don't change the directory.
It won't do anything else other than a statement re:
missing command.com (of course, since it's not in the
MSWorks directory).
Directions given by the boot diskette say to put in a
particular PB CD, which they do.
The CD has two statements on the screen. The first
statement says "enter format # and press enter". The
second statement says "press enter to escape". So,
when they put in the format # and press enter, the
program simply escapes.
HELP!
Besides responding to this venue, please cc: to
zowsky@ncal.verio.com if possible. Thanks.
