Subject: modem upgrade-help
Attempting to upgrade a s605 pb computer modem from the factory 33.6 to a 56k. I have made several attempts to do this but each time the computer refuses to boot after the new modem is installed. I have left the old one in, taken it out, removed the old drivers, and I just don't know what to try next. I swear pb does it's best to make every little upgrade a nightmare. This computer uses a 810 motherboard with a single eisa riser for pci and isa bus. The existing modem is in an isa slot on this riser and connected to the sound card via jumper cable. Please help me if you know how. I just refuse to accept the idea that I can' change components if I want to despite pb's attempts to discourage me...Help!!
