I believe that the term "immovable property" is more proper than "real estate". Real (Royal) estate is royal, thus not for everyone. Immovable property (immobilier, immobilien, immovables) means exactly what it means - the really real real estate: houses and land and all of it together. Here's what it says about immovable property: Immovable Property is: "Immovable object, real estate, item of property. Includes premises and property rights (for example, heritable building right), houses and associated goods and chattels."
