Subject: What do we do with pitiful settlement?

We had our 5-year old home sold. After the (then) buyers had an inspection done, we found out our siding was involved in a class action lawsuit as being defective. The buyers backed out. We have since filed a claim, and received some money from the siding manufacturer, but no where NEAR enough to pay enough for new siding. If we put the house up for sale again, what do we do? Re-side and eat the difference? Hold the funds we got as settlement and give it to the new buyer? We were thinking about painting that "liquid vinyl" stuff on the house (it's as expensive as new siding). If we do, do we still have to disclose that the siding underneath is defective? We want to be on the up and up, but we can't afford new siding, (if we re-side, we certainly can't raise our asking price $15,000 to cover the cost of new siding, so we don't think we'll get our investment back) and don't want to scare away a potential buyer.
