Subject: Looking for info on Atlas Analog 59 wheel balancer
I have an Atlas Analog 59 wheel balancer that I got used a few years ago. I don't have any documentation for it. It has been good for my light use (less than a dozen tires a week). However, lately I have started to experience "weight chasing". For example, if I use 2 plane mode and spin the wheel/tire assembly, it will tell me that I need .75 oz. on the inside and 1.00 oz on the outside. I'll install the weights where indicated and respin. At that point it will tell me I need .50 oz. on both the inside and outside 180 degrees from the first weights. Usually I can remove some of the first weights that I installed and get it closer, but that is a nuisance. This has only started happening recently, so I'm assuming some sort of servicing or adjustment is necessary. The balancer is level and it performs it's calibration procedure without error. There are no diagnostic errors that appear during use.
Any input on this issue, or a source of documentation, would be appreciated. Also, is Atlas even around anymore and does anyone service them?
Thanks in advance.
J.B.
